Thanks to everybody who helped...

We had a great weekend here in Oklahoma as some family came out to help us lay our wood floor, do some painting, brick our fireplace and kitchen backsplash, and construct a linen closet.

We kept everybody busy and had fun staying up late every night chatting or watching BYU football (too bad the Cougs managed to drop the Tulsa game, but Brad is hopeful that they will be able to bounce back!).

Before and after pictures will follow soon, so that you all can see the fabulous improvements that we were able to make with the help of our family.

Thanks Again!

Poor Ian

Well we need to get the BYU football thing off the top of our blog (compliments of Brad of course), so I will give a quick update about our little Ian. If you can believe it, he broke his other arm this past Saturday night!!! He fell into the coffee table while running right before bedtime. We immediately took him to the ER this time and it was broken! He now has casts on both arms. They did a full body scan to check whether he had any other breaks that we didn't know about that may indicate that he had some brittle bone condition. But he didn't. They said that we should keep that possibility in the back of our minds if any future breaks happen. Our ER visit was followed by a suprise visit from Child Protective Services and two police officers at 11:00 pm. They spoke with Brad and I seperately and then made me wake Mae up so that they could talk to her. I am glad they check into these sort of things, but I think they were a little too aggresive. The lady said that she came with the idea that she would take the kids with her. Thank goodness that didn't happen. She is still needing to talk to a few Dr.'s and wants us to provide some references (so some of you may be getting a call), but I think that they are understanding that it was a fluke accident--we hope.

A tribute to John Beck and BYU's great season last year.

This is just a test to see if we can actually post a video correctly--but the video is a good one! John Beck went through a trial of fire at BYU from his freshman year (and his concussion at USC) all the way through his senior year (when he won MWC player of the year).

In any case, he was a fun player to watch. He helped bring BYU back to national attention in college football, and we hope that the Cougs will be able to stay there for many years to come!

By the way, if you can't tell at the end of the video--I am sure that Harline is still open!
